Key Responsibilities
The Lead Nurse at HMP Forest Bank is responsible for:

Shift Leadership:
- Coordinating staffing levels and producing accurate rotas.
- Managing overall clinical workflow and resource allocation.

Clinical Operations:
- Conducting participating in regular audits to ensure compliance and quality standards.

Staff Supervision:
- Mentoring and supporting junior members of staff, facilitating skill development and career progression.

Autonomous Patient Care:
- Assessing new patients upon arrival, providing comprehensive clinical assessments.
- Triaging the acutely unwell and ensuring timely intervention.

Specialist Screening & Clinics:
- Leading multi-disciplinary care teams focused on crucial screening programs:
- Diabetic retinopathy screening
- AAA (abdominal aortic aneurysm) screening
- Diagnostic imaging support, including ultrasounds and X-rays procedures
- Operating nurse-led clinics for:
- NHS Health Checks
- Immunisations and vaccinations
- NHS Bowel Screening
- Phlebotomy (blood sampling services)
- Wound and tissue viability assessments
- Overseeing appropriate prescription, medication rounds, dispensing, and emergency response concrete decision-making.
