Nurse Lead – Complex Care

Location: South West (Hybrid/Home-Based with Travel to Services)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum

Are you an experienced Complex Care Nurse looking for your next leadership opportunity?

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Nurse Lead – Complex Care to join a growing team, providing clinical leadership and support across services throughout the South West region.

This is a predominantly home-based role, offering flexibility while requiring regular travel to services to provide clinical oversight, guidance, and quality assurance.

The Role

As Nurse Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred complex care services. You will provide clinical leadership to teams, support operational performance, maintain compliance, and drive excellent outcomes for service users.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, service managers, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure best practice standards are maintained across all services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership, support, and mentorship to nursing and care teams.
  • Conduct clinical assessments, reviews, audits, and quality assurance visits.
  • Ensure safe and effective delivery of complex care packages.
  • Support and develop clinical governance frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Deliver training, competency assessments, and ongoing clinical supervision.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for individuals.
  • Support service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive best practice across complex care services.

Requirements

Essential

  • Registered Nurse (RGN) with active NMC registration.
  • Proven experience within Complex Care settings.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and hands-on experience supporting individuals with:
    • Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)
    • Tracheostomy care
    • PEG feeding
    • Syringe drivers
  • Previous management or leadership experience, ideally at a senior level.
  • Excellent understanding of clinical governance, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across the South West region.
