Occupational Therapy Team Lead (Band 7)

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC)

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join NHSGGC as a Team Lead (Band 7).

The role involves:

  • Leadership of an occupational therapy team
  • Service development and innovation across inpatient and community services
  • Collaboration with the Inpatient Service Manager, Lead Nurse, Senior Charge Nurses, and senior colleagues

Note: All overseas roles will be assessed for sponsorship in line with current Home Office eligibility requirements.


Position Details

  • Durability: Permanent
  • Working Pattern: Part-time (25 hours/week), Monday to Friday
  • Location: Inverclyde Royal Hospital
  • Salary: Pro-rata for part-time hours

Key Responsibilities

The Team Lead will:

  • Provide operational and professional leadership for a team delivering high-quality occupational therapy across six inpatient wards.
  • Work closely with management colleagues, Inpatient Service Manager, and Senior Charge Nurses to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Lead development of an innovative community occupational therapy service, identifying opportunities for:
    • Service enhancements
    • Implementation of new working strategies
    • Improved patient outcomes and experiences

Requirements

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A degree or recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy with current professional registration.
  • Significant post-registration experience as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Demonstrable leadership abilities, including prior experience managing or supervising staff.
  • Experience in service development and quality improvement.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders.
  • A commitment to innovation in occupational therapy service delivery.
