What You’ll Be Doing
- Direct a small team of managers to deliver the online delivery operation of the supermarket, taking accountability for:
- Every delivery going out on time, every time
- Ensuring customers receive exactly what they need, when they expect it
- Oversee a fast-paced department with multiple KPIs:
- Regularly review data
- Ensure compliance to processes and procedures
- Collaborate with the store leadership team to:
- Plan for upcoming key trading activities and events
- Take full accountability for the store overnight, including:
- Role-modeling and coaching for high standards and efficiency across the store
- Manage people operations, including:
- Pay and scheduling routines
- Training, communication, and employee relations activities
- Managing performance, absence, and completing disciplinaries
- Note: The online teams work early mornings (typically 04:00 – 08:00) for picking items for deliveries.

- Inclusivity-focused, building a culture that values diversity and supports all team members
- Capable of managing disciplinary actions, performance issues, and other employee relations matters (up to dismissal).

Essential Criteria
- Led large teams in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment, developing leaders, fostering high-performing teams, and cultivating ownership and accountability
- Demonstrated exceptional customer experience and operational excellence, evidenced through team performance results
- CV-compliant KPI-driven results:
- Improved sales, stock availability, customer satisfaction, or engagement
- Experience handling complex people issues, including performance management, absence tracking, and formal disciplinary cases with fairness and sound judgment
- Proven operational leadership experience in retail, hospitality, or food service environments where you’ve:
- Owned departmental performance
- Led the store in the absence of senior leadership during critical periods
- Experience leading change:
- Introduced new processes, systems, or working methods
- Successfully shifted team mindsets and embedded improvements

Salary is based on your experience, store size, complexity, and location.
