The role
Do you have a curious brain with a drive to make improvements? Would you like to develop a career in manufacturing? Then this is a great role for you. As a Lead Operator in one of our manufacturing or packing areas you will be directly responsible for and will deliver day to day performance. You will be responsible for safety, quality, output and cost aspects within your line. You will contribute towards the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives within your area so that we continue our journey to excellent performance.

What you’ll be responsible for
- Coordinating a small team of permanent and temporary operators to achieve line targets
- Complying with graze safety standards, ensuring the environment is safe for work at all times, while contributing to the continuous improvement in site Safety culture
- Complying with graze quality and hygiene standards, championing the ownership of the quality culture and contributing to the site wide Quality culture agenda
- Ensuring that the line and machinery settings are optimally set within the defined standards to ensure optimal product quality and equipment efficiency.
- Identifying and escalating machinery breakdowns/faults, working cross functionally to support on root cause analysis and deliver on actions to prevent recurrence
- Owning and delivering changes in processes relating to all aspects of operational performance to deliver on continuous improvement strategies
- Supporting the Team Leader in identifying potential talent or skills gaps in the team around you to ensure the whole team is performing as required to achieve line targets

What we’re looking for in you
- Previous experience in FMCG or manufacturing environment
- Experience in coordinating a small team of associates would be desirable.
- Ability to identify opportunities and come up with solutions to increase efficiency and improve standards in your area
- Strong and effective communication skills within the team and towards support teams within the site
- Any previous experience with continuous improvement methodology and familiarity with health and safety and food safety and quality standards would be desirable but is not mandatory
- Fluent verbal and written English skills
