Lead Planner – Major Offshore Wind Project in the UK

About the Role

To lead the time and human resources planning for a large-scale offshore wind project, ensuring robust control of schedules, scenario modelling, and integrated planning coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Lead time and human resources planning, maintaining schedule analyses and controlling project timelines.
  • Head the integrated joint-venture planning team and onshore/offshore interface planning.
  • Perform scenario modelling in OPC (Offshore Pipeline Controls?/Optimisation?) as applicable.
  • Collaborate with project control functions to deliver an integrated progress overview, enabling effective monitoring, forecasting, and execution. -Delegate planning tasks and work scope among planners while fostering a high-quality integrated schedule through strong team collaboration.

  • Conduct regular progress updates (activities and resources) and report back on progress, performance, and forecasts.
  • Support management decision-making with insights and expertise.
  • Ensure compliance with internal guidelines and processes, contributing to their implementation.

Requirements

Experience

  • Solid experience with large-scale EPC projects—through development and execution—preferably in offshore wind or related marine sectors.
  • Demonstrates competency equivalent to PMI-SP (Project Management Institute Scheduling Professional).
  • 7+ years of wind and/or construction industry experience.
  • 7+ years in similar planning-related roles.
  • 4+ years of experience working in a project matrix organisation.

Technical & Soft Skills

  • Strong expertise as a Lead Planner, including informal leadership of specialist planners in a construction project.
  • Proficient in Primavera Cloud or Primavera 6 (with openness to learning OPC tools).
  • Degree in an applicable field (e.g., Engineering, Project Management) or equivalent qualification.
