Lead Platform Engineer
London - 4 days per week in office
£100,000-£130,000 + Equity + Private Healthcare
Typescript Node, Nest, Next, AI, LLMs
We're looking for a Lead Platform Engineer to join a fast-growing AI software company and play a key role in shaping both the platform and engineering culture.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll architect scalable systems, build complex features, mentor engineers, and help define the technical direction of an AI-first product. You'll work closely with senior leadership and have genuine ownership from day one.

Responsibilities as Lead Platform Engineer
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Typescript (Node, Nest & Next).
- Architect distributed, event-driven systems and microservices.
- Lead a small engineering team through mentoring, code reviews, and technical leadership.
- Drive engineering best practices and champion AI-assisted software development.

To be considered for this role you must be an experienced engineer, with 5+ years experience working with Typescript, using Node & Nest. You will also have worked with AI technologies. Startup experience will be beneficial.
