About the Role
As Lead Power Platform Developer, you’ll execute technical leadership across Microsoft Power Platform, Dataverse, Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (Dynamics 365 CE), and Copilot Studio. You’ll achieve:
- Own the technical quality of delivery, guiding developers while making pragmatic design decisions.
- Hands-on leadership balancing development with aligning solutions for secure, scalable, and maintainable outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with Solution Architects to deliver enterprise-grade solutions in secure environments.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll likely be responsible for:

Technical leadership in Power Platform solutions:
- Lead the delivery of solutions for Canvas Apps, Model-Driven Apps, Dataverse, Power Automate, Power Pages, Copilot Studio, PCF, plug-ins, and Azure integrations.

Technical design & decision-making:
- Own the detailed design of solution components to ensure security, scalability, maintainability.
- Evaluate when to use Power Platform configurations, low-code, customisation (PCF/plugins/Custom APIs/Power Pages/Copilot Studio/Azure services) or pro-code.

Development & mentorship:
- Undertake hands-on development for flow integrations, plug-ins, PCF controls, and Copilot Studio solutions.
- Review and uphold the work of developers, admins, and testers (covering design, code, ALM, security, performance).

Team & quality leadership:
- Set and maintain technical standards (design patterns, coding conventions, quality gates).
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across the Power Platform suite.

Collaboration & execution:
- Coach developers through challenges while delivering on business priorities.
- Support estimation, planning, and prioritisation.
- Align on non-functional requirements (security, performance, accessibility).

Copilot Studio & AI advancements:
- Proactively incorporate emerging AI patterns.
- Lead integration of AI/ML models through Azure AI Foundry/response orchestration/Fine-tunning.

Knowledge governance:
- Develop technical documentation, including designs, deployment notes, and support guides.
- Share best practices through internal training, mentorship, and adaptive learning.

Process excellence:
- Drive enhanced ALM and DevSecOps across solutions.
- Champion workload balance, diversity, and employee wellbeing.
Requirements
Required:
-
Expert-level experience designing and building:
- Canvas/Model-Driven Power Apps (custom pages, reusable components, complex user journeys).
- Dataverse: Data modelling, relationships, security roles, environments, and solution design.

Must have or be eligible for Security Clearance.

Strong background in enterprise-grade Power Automate:
- Cloud flows with best practices for error handling, performance, and monitoring.

Proficient in server-side business logic using C#:
- Dataverse plug-ins, Custom APIs.

PCF (Power Apps Component Framework) expertise:
- TypeScript/React, emphasizing performance, accessibility, and lifecycle management.

Copilot Studio maturity, including:
- Topics, actions, generative AI (RAG), Power Automate integration, security, and governance.
-
Experience with Power Pages, dataverse integrations, and security modelling.

ALM & DevSecOps experience:
- Solution governance, Git/Azure DevOps pipelines, release management.

Integration competence:
- Custom connectors, external APIs, Azure Functions, Logic Apps/Logic Mesh.

Security, governance, and environment strategy expertise across Power Platform.

Hands-on troubleshooting experience with:
- Issues in Power Apps, Dataverse, integrations (plug, Power Pages, AI services).

Leadership & mentoring capability:
- Setting standards for quality, unbiased decision-making, cross-team synergy.

- PL-400, PL-600, PL-200, AZ-204, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Desirable Skills
Experience with:
- Azure AI Foundry (model orchestration, fine-tuning integrations).
- AI agent development (autonomous/conversational, in/outside Copilot Studio).
- Responsible AI principles, governance, and security considerations.
