Lead Practitioner

Lead Practitioner – Health & Social Care (Part-Time or Full-Time)

We've got an exciting opportunity for an experienced, organised and dedicated Health & Social Care professional to join our fantastic #TeamMoray as a Lead Practitioner in Buckie.

This role is available on a part-time basis (25-30 hours/week) or full-time (39 hours/week), with a permanent contract.


About the Role

As a Lead Practitioner, you'll be responsible for leading, inspiring and supporting your team of Support Practitioners. Your role will include:

  • Demonstrating exceptional communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Leading and mentoring your team to ensure they deliver high-quality, professional and person-centred care
  • Collaborating with the Service Lead to ensure services operate efficiently within agreed budgets and contractual requirements
  • Promoting accountability, motivation and engagement within your team

Key Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • Management experience, particularly in health or social care settings
  • In-depth knowledge of delivering effective services within Health & Social Care
  • Passion and expertise in providing high-quality, person-centred care and support
  • Sound awareness of the SSSC Codes of Practice and Health & Social Care Standards
  • Strong record of building and maintaining professional relationships with:
    • Supported individuals
    • Their families
    • Other stakeholders
  • Leadership skills, including the ability to delegate, mentor and collaborate effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Clear understanding of professional boundaries, accountabilities, and responsibilities specific to vulnerable individuals
  • Commitment to undertaking and completing:
    • SVQ Social Services & Healthcare (SCQF Level 7)
    • PDA in Health & Social Care Supervision

Shift Patterns & On-Call Responsibilities

  • Your working week will consist of 5 days per week
  • Flexibility will be required, including:
    • Work on evenings, sleepovers, waking nights, and weekends
    • Rotational on-call duties as required by service needs
