Role Description

We’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our Saga Home Affinity Pricing team as a Lead Pricing Analyst. This is a high impact role where your expertise will directly shape pricing strategy, support sustainable growth, and improve long term profitability across the business.

You’ll lead complex pricing projects, work with sophisticated data and modelling techniques, and collaborate closely with colleagues across underwriting, finance and distribution. Just as importantly, you’ll help build pricing capability within the team and influence the future direction of risk pricing at Ageas UK.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, sharing knowledge, and making a real difference — while working in a supportive, inclusive environment where diverse perspectives are valued.

Main Responsibilities as Lead Pricing Analyst

  • Leading pricing and modelling projects, delivering high quality recommendations that support volume, profitability and loss ratio targets
  • Developing, validating and approving predictive and machine learning models, and supporting their deployment into live pricing environments
  • Monitoring trading performance, analysing emerging loss ratio and market trends, and reviewing long term pricing assumptions by peril
  • Providing clear, insightful recommendations to senior stakeholders and influencing pricing and strategic decisions
  • Managing and coaching Pricing Analysts, building technical capability and supporting career development
  • Playing a key leadership role within the pricing team, deputising for senior managers and contributing to wider Ageas UK pricing strategy

Skills and experience you need as Lead Pricing Analyst

  • A degree (or equivalent experience) in a numerical or analytical discipline
  • Proven experience in insurance pricing or a closely related analytical role
  • Strong programming and data skills (e.g. SQL, SAS, R or Python)
  • Experience with predictive modelling techniques, such as GLMs, GBMs, GAMs, Random Forests or similar
  • The ability to communicate complex analysis clearly to non technical audiences and senior stakeholders
  • Experience coaching or developing analysts, with a collaborative and inclusive leadership style

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
