Your Role

Category Team

  • You’ll have responsibility for end-to-end sourcing activity along with setting the category strategy.
  • You'll also influence and partner your category stakeholders to help deliver our cost transformation activity, and help ensure a best in class cost base.

Strategic Projects

  • You’ll lead on a variety of major business investments, executive priorities and cost transformation programmes; delivering some of our largest and most impactful activity.

Programme

  • You’ll help deliver our cost and cash programme, develop our expertise across all categories, build the long term roadmap, and leverage data and analytics to provide insight across the teams.

Transformation

  • You’ll help deliver the overall procurement transformation, including embedding new ways of working both within the procurement team and in the ASDA business itself. This team will also lead the procurement technology roadmap, define processes, set standards.

Partnering

  • You'll lead commercial strategy to unlock value, partnering with Asda Technology and the CIO to deliver both near-term and long-term value.

This advert is to apply for a Category Manager role in Technology Procurement. Although we will consider your application for other roles where applicable.

Your Role

  • Manage end-to-end sourcing activities and develop category strategies.
  • Influence and collaborate with stakeholders to support transformation initiatives and maintain a competitive cost base.
  • Lead on major business investments and executive priorities within the function.
  • Contribute to our cost and cash programme, leveraging data and analytics in the Centre of Excellence.
  • Drive the procurement transformation, setting new standards and defining the procurement technology roadmap.

  • Proven experience in Procurement/Category Management.
  • Open to individuals seeking to switch categories or with detailed knowledge of their current category market.
  • Skilled in crafting and managing complex contracts.
  • Adept at balancing and anticipating the needs of various stakeholders.
  • Experience in influencing senior levels within a large organisation.
  • Experience in Technology Procurement would be desirable (Software/SaaS, Professional Services, Managed Services).
  • Agile and adaptable to support business needs in a dynamic transformation environment.

To ensure we balance moments where we know we need to collaborate together and the need for flexibility, Asda has a hybrid way of working with a minimum 3 days a week in one of our Home Offices. Over and above this, each area of Asda may have additional requirements which may require spending more days in the office, visiting suppliers, stores or depots.
