Lead Product Designer
Manchester M50 3SP or London EC2R 7HJ - hybrid - minimum 2 days per week in the office
Permanent Full time 37.5 hours per week
Salary £55,300 - £69,100 depending on experience + Management Bonus

You’ll lead how we design and discover better digital health experiences at Bupa - working with product and engineering to define the problems worth solving, test ideas early, and deliver solutions that make a real difference to customers’ lives.
How you’ll help us make health happen
- Design end-to-end experiences that feel intuitive and deliver real value.
- Lead discovery and strategy—frame problems, validate ideas, and guide teams to solutions.
- Embed research into every decision and champion evidence-based design.
- Facilitate collaboration through workshops and design sprints.
- Shape product direction with product and engineering partners.
- Balance user and business needs to create desirable, feasible, and viable solutions.
- Drive design quality, accessibility, and consistency through systems and standards.
- Foster a culture of experimentation and continuous learning.
- Coach and grow designers, setting a high bar for craft and thinking.
What you bring
- Demonstrable, substantial experience in product design in a leadership or mentorship role.
- A portfolio that demonstrates strategic thinking, interaction design depth, and measurable impact.
- Depth in product design plus breadth across research, service, content, systems, or strategy.
- Ability to zoom out on vision and zoom in on details.
- Experience working with AI tools like Figma Make.
- Discovery mindset: test early, guide through ambiguity.
- Interaction-first approach: design how it works, not just how it looks.
- Skilled in Figma, design systems, and accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA).
- Experience in research and usability testing;
- Strong grasp of discovery, experimentation, and agile ways of working.
