Lead Product Designer – UI & Design Systems

The Role
Capco is a global technology and business consultancy focused on the financial services and energy sectors. Our Product & Experience team translates strategy into intuitive digital products and engaging customer experiences that transform businesses and impact millions of users worldwide.
As a Lead Product Designer specialising in UI and Design Systems, you'll create exceptional digital experiences while building scalable design foundations that enable consistency across products, platforms, and teams. You'll embrace AI-enabled ways of working, using approved AI tools where appropriate to enhance design quality and accelerate delivery while applying sound professional judgement.
Working across multidisciplinary teams, you'll establish and evolve enterprise design systems, strengthen collaboration between design and engineering, and help clients deliver accessible, user-centred digital products at scale.
What You'll Do
- Craft exceptional interfaces across responsive web, mobile, and enterprise products.
- Translate user journeys, wireframes, and product requirements into high-quality visual and interaction designs, using approved AI-enabled design tools where appropriate to support ideation and productivity.
- Create, evolve, and scale enterprise design systems, including reusable components, design tokens, patterns, and documentation.
- Partner with UX designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers to deliver consistent, scalable experiences from concept through implementation.
- Present design decisions to stakeholders, facilitate workshops, mentor designers, and champion design excellence.

What We're Looking For
- A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional UI, visual, and interaction design across complex digital products.
- Expertise in typography, layout, responsive design, interaction design, prototyping, accessibility, and enterprise design systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, inclusive design principles, and developer handover.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams.
- Curiosity to explore emerging AI capabilities and apply them responsibly to improve design outcomes.
Bonus Points For
- Experience leading enterprise design systems across multiple products or business areas.
- Knowledge of design system governance, contribution models, adoption, and versioning.
- Experience collaborating with front-end engineers using Storybook, React, HTML, CSS, or coded component libraries.
- Experience designing complex, data-rich, or regulated digital products within financial services.
- Knowledge of motion design, data visualisation, AI-enabled design tools, or advanced prototyping.
