The Role

This company is bootstrapped and profitable, with significant ARR today and a clear path to substantial growth over the next three years. They are building an AI-powered research platform, expected to be half their revenue by 2030, betting on a specialised, fast, AI-native alternative to slow-moving incumbents. This isn't a speculative bet; it's a strategic expansion from a strong, existing business.

This is a senior IC role on their core AI platform. You'll sit alongside other Leads, setting technical direction and making compounding architectural calls. This isn't a tech-lead-from-a-distance role; you'll be hands-on, writing the trickiest agent logic and designing LLM systems. You'll drive the 12-24 month technical roadmap and talk directly to customers, without a PM filter. They hire founding-engineer types for this seat.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The Work

  • Drive the 12-24 month technical roadmap for an AI platform that automates and augments research.
  • Lead the design and implementation of LLM systems: eval harnesses, agent orchestration, retrieval over research data, and observability for non-deterministic systems.
  • Write the trickiest agent logic and core architectural components yourself, bringing your taste to the codebase.
  • Make compounding technical decisions: where to invest in abstractions, manage complexity, or keep things crude.
  • Engage directly with customers to shape product direction, without a PM layer.

What You Bring

  • Production experience building and operating LLM-based products, including meaningful evals and debugging flaky agents.
  • Seasoned full-stack engineer with deep backend expertise (Python) and comfort shipping frontend code.
  • Experience building complex systems: async processing, queues, durable state, and robust observability.
  • An AI-native approach to engineering; you use coding agents and LLMs as part of your daily workflow.
  • Proven track record of making impactful architectural decisions in a fast-paced, 0-1 startup environment.
