Role Summary
We’re seeking a commercially driven, strategic Lead Product Manager to own and grow our EV Charging portfolio. In this high-impact role, you will:
- Define product strategy, including customer propositions and roadmap priorities to maximise market share, customer value, and profitability
- Manage end-to-end customer experiences, covering hardware, firmware, installer journeys, app integrations, and connected energy services
- Collaborate with Digital & HEMS Product Managers to ensure seamless customer journeys and aligned product roadmaps
This position provides a clear pathway to scaling product management leadership as the team grows.
Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Leadership
- Shape the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our Residential EV Charging portfolio
- Define customer and value propositions, and end-to-end customer experiences

Roadmap Ownership & Delivery
- Prioritise and manage the roadmap across hardware, firmware, and digital experiences
- Collaborate with Digital Product Manager & Product Owners on mobile apps, cloud services, and integral API capabilities

Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Ensure cohesion across charger hardware, firmware, installer, and customer journeys
- Partner with Engineering teams to assess feasibility, dependencies, and commercial trade-offs
- Drive end-to-end market delivery from product concept to launch and beyond

Commercial & Lifecycle Performance
- Track portfolio performance, customer adoption, market competitiveness, and Gross Profit contribution
- Lead commercial performance, including revenue growth, pricing strategy, and investment optimisation
- Develop business cases, support profitability decisions, and ensure regulatory compliance

Culture & UpSkilling
- Champion product management best practices and help embed and scale product capability across the business
Required Qualifications & Experience
Essential
-
Substantial Product Management expertise—ideally, in EV charging, connected products, energy tech, IoT, or hardware-enabled solutions

Proven track record in managing product development from concept to market adoption, prioritising commercial and customer outcomes
-
Strong commercial acumen, with experience assessing profitability, gross margins, and investment strategies
-
Hands-on roadmap ownership, balancing customer needs, commercial growth, and technical constraints
-
Experience influencing stakeholders and managing cross-functional teams with no formal authority
-
Ability to guide product delivery across hardware, firmware, cloud app development, and customer digital interfaces
-
Data-driven decision-making, balancing customer insights, commercial targets, and technical feasibility
-
Excellent negotiation and stakeholder communication skills
-
Experience in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban) and tool mastery including Jira, backlog management, roadmaps, and delivery tracking
Desirable
- Prior experience in EV charging, energy utility, or smart home industries
- Portfolio-level financial empowerment: P&L ownership, investment prioritisation, and commercial growth
- Mentoring product teams, developing entry-level talent in product management
- Knowledge of EV charging standards (OCPP/Chargeboxes), smart charging, flexibility services, or Home Energy Management
