Lead Product Manager - Patent Search

Lead Product Manager, Patent Search

The Lead Product Manager, Patent Search is responsible for defining and executing the vision, strategy, and roadmap for next-generation patent search and discovery experiences within Derwent Patent Search, formerly Derwent Innovation.

This role will lead the evolution of patent search from traditional query-driven workflows to AI-powered or agentic-supported experiences, enabling intellectual property professionals to discover, analyze, validate, and act upon patent information with greater efficiency and confidence.

The successful candidate will be part of Clarivate’s Patent Intelligence, Search, and Analytics product organization, reporting to the Senior Director, Product Management. They will own a major product area and drive innovation across product, technology, data science, and content teams to deliver transformational capabilities for corporations, law firms, government agencies, and research organizations worldwide. This is a highly strategic role combining deep product leadership, customer-centric innovation, and practical AI application to address complex patent search and analysis challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the long-term vision and strategy for Derwent Patent Search
  • Drive the evolution of patent search experiences, transitioning from keyword and Boolean search to AI-assisted and agentic-supported workflows
  • Identify customer pain points and uncover opportunities to transform patent discovery, investigation, and validation processes
  • Develop differentiated search experiences to strengthen Clarivate’s competitive positioning within the patent information market
  • Design user experiences that balance automation, transparency, explainability, and professional trust
  • Champion customer-centric roadmap decisions and represent user needs across the organization

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
