Job Description Product Marketing Engineer – Optical Encoder Technology Location: Wotton under Edge Reports to: Head of Sales (Encoder Products) Role Overview The Product Marketing Engineer will bridge the gap between engineering and marketing for Renishaw’s optical encoder product lines. This role is responsible for developing and executing product strategies that highlight both technical strengths and commercial value for Renishaw's laser encoder offering. Key Responsibilities Product & Market Strategy Collaborate with the engineering teams subsidiary and customer base to understand technical specifications and deliver commercial material highlighting unique selling points Develop and refine product positioning, messaging, and value propositions tailored to target industries (e.g., semiconductor) Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and opportunities for product enhancements or new developments. Go-to-Market & Sales Enablement Create presentations, contribute to case studies, and product demos. Support the sales team with training, technical guidance, to effectively communicate product benefits and address customer requirements. Coordinate and execute product launches, working closely with Marcomms. Customer & Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain relationships with key customers, industry influencers, and partners. Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform product development and marketing strategies. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote laser encoder offerings. Key requirements Qualified in an appropriate engineering/ STEM discipline such as physics, or a related technical field; Proven experience in product marketing, technical sales, or product management within a high-tech or engineering environment. Experience with semiconductor, metrology, or precision engineering markets. Strong understanding of market research, product positioning, and go-to-market strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling marketing messages. Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and engage with stakeholders at all levels. Willingness to travel. Desirable Experience in laser or optical encoder technology is highly desirable. Familiarity with regulatory compliance, product lifecycle management, and technical documentation standards. Previous involvement in new product development or launch activities.
