As a Lead Project Manager in Grid Automation, you will be instrumental in planning, managing, and delivering projects from inception to completion, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and maximizing value. You will oversee all financial and operational aspects, including budget, technical and contractual scopes, resource allocation, and execution planning. Your role also encompasses managing safety, quality, and identifying risks and opportunities to ensure success for both internal and external stakeholders.
Job Description
At GE Vernova, we are leading the charge in the energy transition, powering a more sustainable future. As a Lead Grid Automation Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in delivering critical infrastructure projects that enable this transformation. You will be responsible for a portfolio up to 10 active projects, in areas such as (Conventional Control Systems (CCS), Digital Control Systems (DCS), Protection & Control Systems, Services and Spares.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project execution from order intake to end of warranty, encompassing factory acceptance testing (FAT), delivery, and commissioning.
- Serve as the primary customer Point of Contact for contract execution, ensuring commitments are met through consistent communication and periodic reviews.
- Collaborate effectively with engineering, logistics, sourcing, procurement, and finance functions to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain accurate forecasts on financial KPIs (Sales, Cash & Contribution Margin) and provide monthly updates on action plan progress.
- Prepare and present comprehensive project reviews.
- Maintain meticulous documentation and records for all executed projects.
- Manage resource planning and workload for your team.
- Apply Lean management principles & contribute to continuous improvement and development of best Project Management practices in the organization.
- Champion EHS/Safety actions and performance, ensuring full compliance with GE Vernova rules and processes, and that all project teams are properly trained and qualified.
- Support Commercial teams by sharing lessons learned (ROEs) to optimize project costs and delivery.

Essential Requirements
- Substantial professional experience in project management, ideally obtained within the Transmission & Distribution or Grid Automation industries.
- Proven leadership capabilities within a matrix project organization.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a project team of 3-6 individuals.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software, and Microsoft Project.
- Strong business acumen and execution-driven mindset.
- Fluency in English language both oral & written.
- Willingness to travel 10-15% of work time to customer sites in the UK & Nordics.
- Valid UK driver’s license.

Nice-to-have Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering from an accredited university or college.
- Background in T&D and Automation (Protection & Controls).
- High energy, positive individual who thrives on operational challenges.
- Project management training and certification (PMP, Chartered PM status, etc.)
