LEAD PROJECT MANAGER - 6 MONTH FTC
Ginger Energy
Competitive
Hybrid - EgdBaston, Birmingham
Role Overview
You will lead and coordinate the delivery of a structured compliance and operational readiness programme across our heat network portfolio. Working at the intersection of regulation, service delivery and customer outcomes, you will bring clarity, drive and governance to ensure every network is safe, compliant and prepared for seamless operations.
In your first two weeks you will attend the Birmingham office daily to onboard with key teams, understand our portfolio, and align ways of working. Thereafter, you will move to our hybrid model, balancing on-site collaboration with focused remote delivery to keep the programme on track.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
You will plan, run and continuously refine a portfolio-wide programme that ensures every scheme meets compliance requirements and is operationally ready. Most days you will coordinate cross-functional workstreams, track risks and dependencies, resolve issues at pace, and communicate progress to stakeholders. You will turn complex requirements into clear actions, timelines and measurable outcomes.
What Success Looks Like
- A clear, living programme plan that delivers compliance and readiness milestones on time and within scope.
- Proactive risk, issue and dependency management with no surprises and swift, well-communicated decisions.
- Stakeholders aligned and engaged, with concise reporting that turns data into direction.
- Heat networks audited and evidenced as compliant, with robust documentation and handover packs.
- Operational processes tested end-to-end, with playbooks, SLAs and escalation paths embedded.
- Tangible improvements to customer experience, safety and cost control across the portfolio.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
