🚨 Lead Python Engineer Opportunity 🚨
📍 London (Hybrid) 💰 Up to £110,000
OB have partnered with a global InsurTech business transforming how insurance products are built, scaled and delivered through modern, data-driven platforms.
Following continued investment into their technology function, they’re looking for a Lead Python Engineer to join their London team and play a key role in the next phase of growth.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role with real ownership across architecture, engineering standards and the delivery of scalable, business-critical systems.
🔧 The role: You’ll work closely with Engineers, Product Managers and Data Scientists to design and deliver high-quality technical solutions, while helping shape the future direction of their platforms.

You’ll be responsible for:
- Driving technical decisions across backend architecture
- Designing and building scalable Python services
- Improving engineering practices across testing, CI/CD and automation
- Mentoring engineers and raising technical standards
- Collaborating across Engineering, Product and Data teams
💻 What they’re looking for:
- Strong Python engineering experience
- Experience designing scalable backend systems & platforms
- Strong SQL knowledge (PostgreSQL / SQL Server)
- Experience working with large-scale data systems
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, testing and automation
