Lead Python Engineer
Senior/Lead Python Engineer (Agentic & Production-Focused)
Are you a strong Senior/Lead-level Python engineer who leverages agentic tooling not as a shortcut but to enhance speed, quality, and delivery? If you thrive on ownership, enjoy tackling meaningful engineering challenges, and want to build something at scale—this opportunity is for you.
About the Role
You’ll be deeply embedded in the product team of one of the UK’s leading procurement platforms—a high-traffic system that connects construction project managers with suppliers. Your mission: enhance the Python core of the platform while integrating its AI-native features, all while interfacing with an existing PHP/Laravel stack.
This isn’t just API work or new build. You’ll be debugging, designing, and optimising real, live systems where pythonbinaries.com isn’t an option—production craftsmanship is mandatory.
Your Focus
- Python Services & AI Features: Build and maintain the core Python backbone of the platform.
- Cloud-Native Deployment: Design, test, and deploy robust Azure-hosted systems.
- PHP/Laravel Collaboration: Work with the existing (non-trivial) Laravel backend to enable seamless cross-language integrations.
- Front-End Awareness: Understand React.js when needed—no deep-spaాణeering, but bridge prep is expected.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
