Lead Quality Engineer
Permanent role
Based in Ampthill
Offering up to £70,000

As the Lead Quality Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. They are always looking to bring on new talents such as yourself and further develop your skills to enable you to grow within the company and industry.
You will be involved in:
- Define & execute the quality strategy for a range of defence projects
- Align quality objectives with business KPIs such as yield, cost-of-quality, and on-time delivery
- Accurate reporting of team performance and program quality matters
- Manage a team to deliver against the requirements
- Own end-to-end quality assurance and control of the products
- Develop an audit schedule for the area and ensure those audits are undertaken with any corrective actions implemented

Your skillset may include:
- Experience within a Defence, Aerospace, or other highly regulated manufacturing environment
- Previous leadership or management experience within a Quality function
- Proven ability to lead teams and deliver against quality and business KPIs
- Experience managing quality activities across complex projects or manufacturing programmes
- Strong understanding of:
- Quality Management Plans (QMPs)
- PFMEA
- Control Plans
- FAIR / AS9102
- Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
- Internal and external auditing
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
- Certified Internal Auditor
- SAP QM or equivalent ERP experience
- Supplier Quality Management experience
- Experience using digital or AI-enabled quality tools
- Working knowledge of AS9100 quality management systems
