Hitachi is looking for a Senior SCADA Engineer to join our HVDC team. This opportunity is a hybrid role that includes both site work and office-based work. We are looking for a person who thrives in a constantly changing environment and enjoys collaboration with employees, peers, and beyond.

How You'll Make An Impact
Design & develop a secure network overall architecture for SCADA / HMI system for the AC Substation and HVDC projects. IT infrastructure hands on experience on Routers, Firewalls, Switches, Servers, and workstations with basic networking skills. Documentation review from the supplier in the project execution phase. Lead discussions with our customers and coordinate with various suppliers and support on the key technical configuration. Maintain and build a collaborative environment with all the stakeholders in the project execution. Coordinate and plan the site activities in coordination with different suppliers. Evaluate and strengthen the security of any connections to the DCS / SCADA / HMI network. Lead the automation projects and guide/mentor within the team for the business requirements. Work together with our customers, both internally and externally, to ensure our delivery is according to their requirements and standards.

Background
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Control, or Communication Engineering Proven experience within SCADA / HMI application development using Micro SCADA / Zenon SCADA software. Hands-on experience on Micro SCADA and Substation Automation Solution & Products. Understanding of UK electricity industry standards, especially National Grid, SSE/SPEN, DNO standards, and type registration/product approval process Excellent design capability and experience in the engineering discipline of Control systems. High level of understanding of relevant communication protocols and computer interfaces: MODBUS, DNP3, IEC 61850, IEC 60870, and communication and network equipment.
