Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant ready to take the next step in your career? A welcoming and inclusive school in Ealing is looking to appoint a Lead SEND Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated support team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in helping pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) access a high-quality education. Working alongside teachers, SENCOs, and support staff, you'll help create an environment where every child feels valued, supported, and able to achieve their full potential.
The Role
As the Lead SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide specialist support for pupils with a range of additional needs while helping to guide and mentor other members of the classroom support team. Your experience and leadership will help ensure pupils receive consistent, high-quality support throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored one-to-one and small group interventions for pupils with SEND
- Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement individual support plans
- Support pupils with communication, social, emotional, and academic development
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to reviews and assessments
- Provide guidance and day-to-day support to other Teaching Assistants where appropriate
- Adapt learning resources to meet individual learning needs
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence and confidence
- Maintain accurate records while ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times

About You
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous experience supporting pupils with SEND in a school environment
- Be confident leading interventions and supporting other Teaching Assistants
- Have a good understanding of a range of special educational needs and inclusive teaching practices
- Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills
- Be patient, compassionate, and committed to achieving positive outcomes for every child
- Be able to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
