About This Role
Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant ready to take the next step in your career? A welcoming and inclusive school in Ealing is searching for a Lead SEND Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated support team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in helping pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) access high-quality education. By collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff, you will create an environment where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.
The Role
As a Lead SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide specialist support for pupils with diverse learning needs while mentoring other classroom support staff. Your experience and leadership will help ensure pupils receive consistent, high-quality care throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored one-to-one and small group interventions for pupils with SEND
- Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to implement individual support plans
- Support pupils with communication, social, emotional, and academic development
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to reviews and assessments
- Provide guidance and practical support to other Teaching Assistants as needed
- Adapt learning resources to meet specific pupil needs
- Promote positive behaviour and boost independence and confidence
- Maintain accurate records while ensuring strict adherence to safeguarding procedures

Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previously supported SEND pupils in a school environment
- Be confident in leading interventions and assisting fellow Teaching Assistants
- Display a solid understanding of a wide range of special educational needs and inclusive teaching practices
- Exhibit excellent communication and organisational skills
- Be patient, compassionate, and committed to achieving outstanding outcomes for children
- Able to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or agree to obtain one
