The Opportunity
As the Lead SEND Teaching Assistant, you’ll:
- Support pupils with a wide range of special educational needs, helping them overcome hurdles and build confidence.
- Work closely with staff (teachers, SENCO, and TA’s) to ensure high-quality, consistent support across all classroom settings.
- Contribute your expertise to create strategies that promote independence, inclusion, and positive behaviour.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Personalised Learning Support
- Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to meet individual needs.
- Adapt lessons and learning resources in collaboration with teachers.

✅ Holtistic Pupil Development
- Support academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social development.
- Assist with EHCP targets and personalised learning programmes.
✅ Progress Tracking & Reporting
- Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to teachers and the SENCO.
- Share best-practice insights with fellow TAs as a team leader.
✅ Inclusive Environment
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning space.
- Help develop strategies for independence and fostering confidence.
About You
This role is ideal for a passionate, experienced professional with:
✔ Proven experience supporting children with SEND in primary or specialist schools. ✔ Confidence working with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and speech/language needs. ✔ A patient, caring, and proactive attitude towards supporting diverse learners. ✔ Strong communication and organisational skills—able to engage with pupils, colleagues, and families. ✔ A commitment to inclusion and achieving the best outcomes for every child.
Essential Qualifications:
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (must have or be willing to obtain).
