Lead SEND Teaching Assistant | Southall | Full-Time Opportunity

Location: Southall, West London

Salary: £100–£110/day (PAYE) Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term

About the Opportunity

Prebook Recruitment is partnering with a supportive and inclusive school in Southall seeking a Lead SEND Teaching Assistant to enhance its specialist support team.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant who is driven by the desire to help children overcome learning barriers. You’ll work at the heart of the school, delivering tailored support to pupils with diverse additional needs while collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment.


About the Role

In this position, you’ll take responsibility for delivering high-quality SEND support, coordinating classroom assistance, and ensuring tailored interventions are implemented effectively. Key to your role will be:

  • Promoting positive outcomes and student independence
  • Ensuring every child gets the opportunity to thrive academically and socially

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support:
    • One-to-one and small group tuition tailored to individual needs
    • Assistance with inclusive and engaging learning activities

  • Coordinated interventions:

    • Help implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
    • Design and execute monitored support plans
  • Nurture personal growth:

    • Encourage development of communication skills, emotional resilience, and social confidence
    • Foster positive behaviour and a calm, supportive classroom environment
  • Collaborate and mentor:

    • Offer guidance to Teaching Assistants within classrooms
    • Contribute to pupil progress reviews and support strategies

    • Maintain strict safeguarding standards and pupil wellbeing focus

Requirements

We’re seeking someone who:

  • Has proven classroom experience supporting children with SEND
  • Holds specialist knowledge of conditions including autism, ADHD and speech and language difficulties
  • Can lead interventions and mentor colleagues
  • Excels in building relationships with pupils, families, and external professionals
  • Demonstrates exceptional organisational skills, communication, and teamwork
  • Is patient, proactive, and deeply committed to inclusive education -Possesses an Enhanced DBS (or is willing to obtain it)
