Location: Harrow, North West London Salary: £100 – £110 per day, PAYE Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term


About the Role

Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking to take on greater responsibility within a supportive school environment? Prebook Recruitment is collaborating with a welcoming and well-established school in Harrow, seeking a committed Lead SEND Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated inclusion team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs—working alongside teachers and the SENCO to deliver outstanding inclusive provision. The Role

As the Lead SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be a key member of the school’s SEND provision, ensuring specialist support for pupils while maintaining high standards across the wider support team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-quality one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
  • Assisting teachers with planning and delivering differentiated learning activities
  • Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and other additional learning needs
  • Monitoring pupil progress, contributing to reviews, interventions, and support plans
  • Encouraging confidence, independence, and positive social interactions
  • Collaborating with SENCOs, teachers, parents, and external agencies
  • Supporting and mentoring Teaching Assistants where needed
  • Promoting safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing at all times

About You

Successful candidates will:

  • Have substantial experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of inclusive education and effective intervention strategies
  • Be confident in supporting pupils with complex and varied learning needs
  • Have excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
  • Remain calm, patient, and positive in challenging situations
  • Be passionate about helping every child achieve their individual potential
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service) or be willing to obtain one
