Role Overview
As we deliver our ambitious 2030 Growth Strategy, we’re looking for a Lead SHE Coordinator to be responsible for providing technical SHE leadership to support the site’s operations, laboratory and maintenance functions, as well as coordinate the safe and efficient operations on site in accordance to the SHE management systems and regulatory requirements. This will include ensuring compliance to internal and external SHE standards, regulations and legislation, monitoring and identifying opportunities to make improvements to SHE performance on site and communicating with all employees as appropriate regarding safety matters. You will also maintain a full range of risk control programmes and procedures to minimise risk and manage foreseeable emergencies.
Who We’re Looking For
- Passion for SHE and an enthusiastic, optimistic working attitude, good team spirit, and be self-motivated.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of explaining technical information in simple and impactful manner, as well as being an effective relationship builder.
- Ability to influence and effectively work and lead cross-functional/ multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Detailed understanding of SHE regulations associated with a chemical site and practical experience of developing and implementing a wide range of suitable control strategies.
- Capable incident investigator with the ability to identify and tackle fundamental system and cultural causes of SHE failings.
- Experience of manufacturing environments.
- Effective trainer, capable of developing and delivering high quality, engaging SHE training, both to employees and contractors.
- Experience within the chemical industry is desirable.
- Experience of maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 compliant management systems is desirable.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the SHE Manager in the development and maintenance of the SHE management systems.
- Engage with employees on safety, health and environmental matters.
- Take a lead in various SHE related projects.
- Manage various types of risk assessments, e.g. general, COSHH, PUWER, etc. and supporting the completion of actions from these assessments.
- Take a lead role in incident investigations.
- Participate in the site SHE committee, Human Performance Learning Groups and internal & external audits.
- Support activities associated with improving SHE practice and performance within the site.
- Take a lead in data reporting, trending, and the operation of SHE specific online platforms.
