Lead Software Engineer (Remote)

This is a REMOTE opportunity. Note: This role does not provide sponsorship.

We are collaborating with an award-winning AI FinTech company, specialising in developing advanced, industry-specific AI tools. These tools seamlessly merge AI capabilities with human expertise, enhancing performance within the financial services industry.

We are seeking an exceptional Lead Software Engineer to join one of our core product squads. In this role, you will act as a technical co-leader, working alongside the Engineering Manager to shape the squad’s technical development and ensure engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Own the squad’s strategic technical direction and engineering quality end-to-end
  • Make architectural decisions while delivering hands-on work
  • Lead LLM-powered feature development and set benchmarks for integrating AI tooling to elevate the engineering process
  • Mentor engineers and influence broader engineering practices across the organisation
  • Ensure development adheres to full-stack and cloud-native principles

Key Requirements

  • Deep expertise in AI/LLM systems with meaningful experience building and operating at scale in production
  • Proficient in Python
  • Hands-on experience with AWS
  • Strong understanding of event-driven architectures
  • React (preferred but not mandatory)
