The role

Join us at a pivotal stage of transformation as we build a world-class retail engineering function. If you're passionate about solving challenging problems, building exceptional software, and helping shape the future of retail technology, we'd love to hear from you. This is an opportunity to make a real impact in a fast-moving, growth-focused environment.

Please note that this role is based in London (Paddington) with an expectation of four days per month in the office.

What's the job?

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction, coaching, and mentorship to engineers, influencing squad objectives and long-term engineering goals.
  • Solution Delivery: Lead the design and delivery of complex, scalable solutions, partnering with Engineering Leads, Principal Engineers, and Architects to develop effective low-level designs.
  • Engineering Excellence: Champion engineering best practices, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives that drive measurable impact.
  • Talent Development: Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development activities, helping to build and retain high-performing engineering teams.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Foster a culture of collaboration through effective documentation, knowledge sharing, and technical leadership across the wider engineering community.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships across engineering and business teams, ensuring alignment and successful delivery of strategic objectives.
  • Continuous Learning: Take ownership of personal development while promoting a culture of learning, innovation, and adoption of emerging technologies.
  • Innovation & Problem Solving: Drive experimentation and creative thinking to solve complex technical challenges and deliver innovative solutions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
