Lead Software Engineer - AWS / GCP

Lead Software Engineer in Cloud Foundational Services

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will enhance, build, and deliver secure, stable, and scalable technology products across multiple technical domains. You’ll drive delivery, stay hands-on with design, development, testing, and troubleshooting while defining and reinforcing engineering standards that align with the firm’s objectives.

You’ll partner with your team to improve operational stability through automation and thoughtful architecture. A core value of JDPE’s culture is diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect, and we welcome your leadership in fostering this ethos.

Join an agile, cloud-focused environment where your ideas shape how we design, build, test, and run critical platforms.

The Role

Design, develop, and operationalise JPMorgan Chase’s foundational cloud-native technology at scale. You’ll ensure security, performance, and innovation across multi-tenant platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot large-scale cloud-native systems, overcoming technical challenges with creative solutions.
  • Lead by example through secure, high-quality production code delivery.
  • Review and mentor junior engineers, sharing best practices and debugging capabilities.
  • Identify recurring operational issues and drive automation or remediation improvements.
  • Lead technical evaluations, assessing architectural fit and modernisation opportunities.
  • Advocate for modern software engineering practices and emerging technologies.
  • Uphold diversity, inclusion, and collaboration in all team interactions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
