Voldex is a leading gaming company focused on Roblox, the most exciting ecosystem in gaming today. We are home to several of Roblox's top games, including Brookhaven, Driving Empire, and NFL Universe Football. With over 160 million monthly active players across our games, we are one of the biggest Roblox studios by audience size. Founded in 2015, we have since grown to 95+ full-time remote team members across the globe.
Role Overview
Brookhaven is one of the largest games on Roblox, enjoyed by millions of players around the world every day. As our Lead Software Engineer, you'll lead a small engineering team responsible for delivering the features, systems, and technical improvements that power a live game at massive scale. 🚀
This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll drive day-to-day engineering execution—from planning and technical direction through release and live operations—while mentoring engineers, setting a high bar for quality, and partnering closely with Product, Design, Art, and QA to ship polished player experiences. If you're excited by building for millions of players while helping a team do its best work, we'd love to hear from you!
What You’ll Do
- Lead a small engineering team to deliver roadmap features predictably while balancing quality, velocity, technical risk, and business needs
- Be accountable for the delivery of features owned by direct reports, ensuring work is well-scoped, estimated, sequenced, implemented, tested, merged, and released effectively
- Own technical estimates produced by the team, ensuring estimates are realistic, account for dependencies and risks, and support reliable roadmap planning
- Partner closely with product managers, producers, QA, design, art, and other stakeholders to align feature execution with business goals, player experience expectations, and technical constraints
- Monitor game performance, live stability, crash rates, FPS, and post-release regressions; identify risks, escalate when needed, and drive action plans with the team
- Set and enforce standards for code quality, maintainability, implementation, and review across the team
- Mentor engineers on technical execution, code quality, player experience, Roblox/game platform constraints, and engineering judgment
- Proactively improve game and feature quality by identifying opportunities to improve responsiveness, polish, stability, performance, and overall player experience
- Collaborate with the manager and senior engineers to define technical initiatives, roadmap risks, operational improvements, and technical priorities for the game
- Support people leadership responsibilities, including onboarding, structured feedback, performance documentation, growth planning, and identifying gaps against the levelling framework

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
