Job Summary: As a Lead Software Engineer in the Global Technology – Container Platforms team, you will design, build, and deliver trusted technology products that support the firm’s business objectives. You will implement critical solutions across multiple technical areas, focusing on creating platforms and new workload offerings using Kubernetes. You will help make deployments easier and more maintainable on Kubernetes and Cloud Foundry. You’ll thrive in an environment where building new systems from the ground up is encouraged and valued.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
  • Develop secure, high-quality, and observable production code; review and debug code written by others
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials
  • Drive outcomes-oriented probing for applicability within existing systems and information architecture
  • Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and use of new technologies
  • Foster a team culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect
  • Collaborate with others and contribute to building a high-performing team
  • Champion a team-first mentality
  • Promote innovative and creative solutions to technical problems
  • Support continuous improvement and operational excellence

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Proven experience in writing code using AI Engineering Tooling such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Codex
  • Proficient experience in GoLang
  • Cloud native experience with Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry, and/or AWS/Azure/GCP technologies
  • Proficiency in automation, various testing paradigms, and continuous delivery methods
  • Expertise in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software engineering for applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, software design)
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and IT systems
  • Strong critical thinking, systems thinking, and design thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Experience building platforms and workload offerings from the ground up
  • Familiarity with container orchestration and cloud-native architectures
  • Ability to drive innovation and lead technical initiatives
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Passion for mentoring and supporting team members
  • Commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion
  • Experience working in high-performing, agile teams
