Lead Software Engineer / Developer London / WFH to £120k

The Role
As a Lead Software Engineer, you’ll:
- Lead a small, talented tech team in delivering:
- New features
- Enhancements
- Refactoring work
- Contribute to a core banking platform, integrating with major players like HSBC.
- Work with a relatively young codebase, tackling new projects.
- Spend roughly 50% of time on architecture/design and 50% on people management.
- Set coding standards, mentor junior developers, and foster:
- Continuous improvement
- Self-development culture

Location & Flexibility
- Join colleagues in a Central London office.
- Hybrid model: up to 2 days per week WFH.
About You
You should have:
- Python expertise with deep knowledge of:
- Software engineering best practices
- Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Team leadership experience, including:
- Mentorship
- 1-2-1s
- Performance reviews
- Strong understanding of cloud-based services (preference for GCP, but AWS/Azure experience is fine).
- Experience in:
- Building APIs (preference for FastAPI).
- CI/CD, testing, and deployment pipelines.
- Thorough grasp of Computer Science fundamentals:
- Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
- Data Structures
- Design Patterns
- Algorithms
- Collaborative, pragmatic, with excellent communication skills.
- Degree in a STEM discipline with 2.1 or above achievement.
