Lead Software Engineer
Salary: Up to £110,000 + Benefits
Location: London, UK | Hybrid working
We're partnering with a forward-thinking technology business to hire a Lead Software Engineer into a high-calibre engineering function at the intersection of technical delivery and people leadership. The business is actively embedding AI across its engineering workflows and is building intelligent, autonomous systems that are shaping the future of its domain.
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for technical excellence, line management, and consistent proactive communication across many stakeholders, clients, and colleagues. You'll have a passion for AI-driven innovation and lead the charge across several projects and initiatives.

- Own technical delivery across a wide portfolio of projects and initiatives
- Line Management, developing engineers across the team
- Hands-on capabilities, remaining close to the code and leading from the front
- Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery timeframes are aligned
- Drive the adoption of AI tooling and practices across the engineering function
Requirements as Lead Software Engineer:
- Strong engineering background in Python
- Frontend exposure - ideally in Angular but React/Vue or related frameworks is also ok
- Expertise designing and building systems with performance and scalability in mind
- Familiarity with Gen AI frameworks such as LangGraph, Crew AI or the OpenAI ecosystems
- Exposure to AWS, GCP, or Azure
- DevOps and Infrastructure tooling - CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes
- Experience building and maintaining distributed systems
- SQL & NoSQL databases
