Role Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Lead Software Engineer to join our Markets Research technology team in London.

This role is a key leadership position responsible for driving the evolution of our Insights platform, with a strong focus on modern client-facing web applications, cloud-native architecture, and next-generation Generative UI/UX capabilities.

The successful candidate will play a central role in transforming how research products are designed, delivered, and consumed by clients with dynamic, interactive, and AI-enabled user experiences.

You will collaborate closely with business, research, product, and engineering teams to design and deliver innovative solutions that enhance client experience, scalability, and operational efficiency across the Global Markets Research ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of modern, enterprise-grade, client-facing research platforms for financial research products
  • Drive the transformation of the Insights platform toward cloud-native, scalable, and highly interactive experiences
  • Champion the adoption of Generative UI/UX patterns, enabling dynamic and personalized research delivery
  • Design end-to-end solutions across:
    • Frontend applications
    • Backend services
    • Data and analytics platforms
  • Translate business requirements into robust, scalable, and production-ready architectures
  • Partner with research, product, and business stakeholders to shape innovative, client-centric solutions
  • Integrate advanced capabilities such as:
    • Data Visualization and Data Analytics
    • Generative AI / Generative UI features
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to global engineering teams, ensuring high standards of design, performance, and maintainability
  • Drive engineering best practices including DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud-native development
  • Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on technology strategy and platform evolution

Required Skills And Experience

These skills will help you succeed in this role

  • Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-grade, client-facing web applications or platforms
  • Strong expertise in cloud-native (AWS) architecture, including:
    • Microservices and distributed systems
    • API-first design and event-driven architecture
  • Deep hands-on experience across modern frontend technologies, such as:
    • React, Angular, or Vue
    • Building highly performant, interactive, data-driven user interfaces
  • Strong backend engineering experience using technologies such as:
    • Python, Java, Node.js, or similar
    • Scalable service design and data processing pipelines
  • Experience working with data and analytics platforms, including visualization and large-scale data handling
  • Exposure to or experience with Machine Learning and/or Generative AI (LLMs) and their practical application in products
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and production operations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver complex, cross-functional technology initiatives
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Education & Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, with a strong track record in system design and delivery
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • AWS Solutions Architect Certificate is a plus
