An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead System of Systems (SoS) ADAS Engineer to support the end-to-end development, integration, and release of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Automated Driving technologies within a leading automotive engineering environment.
Acting as a technical focal point across software, hardware, systems integration, and vehicle programmes, this role is responsible for coordinating the successful delivery of ADAS features throughout the complete product development lifecycle. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure software, hardware, and feature releases meet programme milestones, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
This position combines systems engineering, technical leadership, programme coordination, and release management, making it ideal for an engineer with a strong understanding of ADAS development processes, automotive systems integration, and software lifecycle management.
Responsibilities
System of Systems Engineering
- Lead and coordinate System of Systems (SoS) engineering activities across ADAS and Automated Driving programmes
- Support the end-to-end development and integration of software, hardware, sensors, and vehicle features
- Ensure alignment between system architecture, feature implementation, and programme delivery objectives
- Act as a technical point of contact for ADAS system integration activities across engineering and programme teams
Software & Feature Release Management
- Coordinate the release of software, hardware, and feature deliverables into vehicle programmes
- Manage software quality gateway activities, ensuring all technical and programme deliverables are completed prior to release
- Organise and support sign-off activities, ensuring appropriate quality metrics, documentation, and approvals are achieved
- Maintain visibility of software and hardware readiness throughout the development lifecycle
Systems Integration & Configuration Management
- Support integration activities by providing system configuration information for development, validation, and production environments
- Coordinate configuration management across internal and external ECUs
- Support laboratory, vehicle, and proving ground test activities by ensuring correct ADAS configurations are available
- Assist with feature integration across complex vehicle electrical and electronic architectures
Standards, Compliance & Process Improvement
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of engineering processes and development methodologies
- Drive compliance with automotive software and cybersecurity regulations, including software update and cybersecurity management requirements
- Contribute to the development of new engineering standards, release processes, and best practices
- Promote adherence to ASPICE, systems engineering, and software quality processes

Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary interface between ADAS engineering teams and wider business functions
- Collaborate closely with:
- Systems Engineering
- Software Engineering
- Hardware Engineering

- Validation & Verification

- Manufacturing and Production
- Support issue resolution by coordinating technical discussions across multidisciplinary teams
- Communicate programme status, risks, and technical updates to engineering leadership and project stakeholders
Technical Support & Continuous Improvement
- Support root cause investigations and technical issue resolution
- Contribute to lessons learned activities and continuous improvement initiatives
- Promote efficient release management and delivery processes across ADAS programmes
- Support development of engineering documentation and technical reporting
Qualifications
- Degree (BSc/BEng or equivalent) in: Automotive Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Strong understanding of automotive systems engineering and software development processes
Essential skills
- Strong understanding of end-to-end automotive software and systems development lifecycles
- Experience supporting software, hardware, or feature delivery within complex automotive programmes
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles and SoS integration
- Understanding of ASPICE and structured automotive development methodologies
- Experience coordinating software release, integration, or configuration management activities
- Understanding of ADAS architecture, sensor technologies, and feature development
- Knowledge of vehicle electrical and electronic architectures and ECU interactions
- Understanding of automotive communication networks, including:
- CAN
- Automotive Ethernet
- Vehicle diagnostics
- Experience supporting software quality gateways, technical reviews, and release readiness activities
- Familiarity with software lifecycle management and configuration control
- Knowledge of automotive software regulations and standards, including:
- UN R155 (Cybersecurity)
- UN R156 (Software Updates)
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to engage across engineering, programme, and operational teams
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple concurrent workstreams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with a proactive approach to issue resolution
- Experience using engineering and project management tools such as:
- Jira
- Git
- Requirements and configuration management systems
- Ability to work within Agile and cross-functional engineering environments

Desired skills
- Experience with ADAS testing, validation, and vehicle integration activities
- Knowledge of ADAS sensors (Radar, Camera, LiDAR, Ultrasonic), vehicle networks, and diagnostics
- Familiarity with automotive release/configuration management tools and structured problem-solving techniques (e.g. 8D, RCA, Six Sigma)
- Understanding of automotive cybersecurity, connected vehicle technologies, and software-defined vehicle (SDV) architectures
- Previous experience leading technical workstreams or driving engineering process improvements
Experience
- Proven experience within automotive systems engineering, software integration, or ADAS development
- Experience supporting end-to-end software or feature delivery within vehicle programmes
- Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams across systems, software, hardware, and validation functions
- Exposure to ADAS, autonomous driving, or vehicle control systems
- Experience supporting software release, feature integration, or ECU configuration activities
- Experience working within OEM, Tier 1, or advanced automotive engineering environments
- Familiarity with structured automotive development processes, including V-cycle and ASPICE
- Experience supporting vehicle integration, testing, or validation programmes

Skills
