Job Description Job Description Summary Due to the exponential growth we’re experiencing within the Power markets and our business, we’re recruiting for an experienced Commodity Manager who will manage a defined set of commodities for the GE GSI (Grid Systems Integration) Product Delivery Group (PDG) in Stafford. Responsibilities Accountable for developing, leading and implementing commodity strategies to deliver on safety, quality, delivery and landed/lifecycle cost for the assigned commodities. Negotiate supplier Contracts and Pricing, and transmit to Procurement teams. Build and strengthen supplier relationships Provide Supplier insights, benchmarking and market analysis activities. Provide support to stakeholders regarding Quality, Cost and Delivery of commodity. Duties include, but are not limited to : Manage sourcing strategy in line with GE existing global sourcing processes. Ensure delivered products meet quality & on time delivery standards including being a point of escalation for supplier issues. Support, maintain, and update key sourcing tools, processes, and systems. Generate cost reduction and cash management actions. Secure Supply Chain through Sourcing actions. Benchmark & challenge current supplier portfolio. Manage KPIs reporting and consolidation within the whole local sourcing group. Advanced collaboration with GE Key Commodity Leaders. Work closely with Tendering activities to ensure accuracy. Facilitate action plan when Quality or Logistics issues with suppliers. Desired Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with Sourcing / Supply chain education preferred; or equivalent experience. Experienced commodity manager, advanced experience and demonstrated years in Sourcing & Commodity management. English fluency in writing and speaking. Readiness to travel up to 20% of working time. Desired Characteristics Bachelor’s degree in Sourcing / Supply Chain Management preferred. Previous Sourcing experience essential. Knowledge of purchasing practices, principles, and procedures. Ability to analyse and present statistical data. Knowledge of MS Office applications, including some knowledge of intermediate level Excel functionality. Excellent communication skills. Good organisational and time management skills. Must be able to balance multiple tasks in a challenging, fast paced work environment. Exceptional analytical skills. Demonstrated team player with a strong initiative to win. Highly motivated self-starter. Demonstrated professional oral / written communication and negation skills. Significant project management skills. Working knowledge of SAP ERP system. Negotiation skills. Experience with RFQ implementation and execution. Ability to travel worldwide.
