Lead Specialist Telemetry Advisor – Salary up to £56,000 – (Hybrid based in Wales)
The Opportunity
We are currently working with a key Civil Service Organisation to recruit their next Lead Specialist Advisor for Telemetry – an incredibly unique role, blending all aspects of telemetry into an exciting time of change for the organisation.
They are moving to a new cloud-hosted telemetry platform replacing a long-standing legacy solution with a modern, resilient architecture built hosted within Microsoft Azure.
The Role
You will act as the key interface between Telemetry Services and ICT, ensuring telemetry technologies are integrated effectively with cloud platforms, enterprise reporting, business intelligence solutions and wider digital services.
- Providing strategic leadership and governance for NRW's telemetry service and supporting technologies.
- Developing and delivering long-term telemetry, instrumentation and IoT strategies aligned to organisational objectives.
- Acting as the senior interface between Telemetry Services, Digital & ICT teams and external technology partners.
- Ensuring effective integration with Microsoft Azure services, data platforms, reporting tools and future digital capabilities.

Requirements
You will be an experienced telemetry including SCADA specialist with a strong technical foundation and proven experience working within mission-critical environments.
- Strong understanding of telemetry architectures, data historians, field instrumentation, remote monitoring and control systems.
- Experience working within highly resilient operational environments where data availability, reliability and accuracy are critical.
- Experience shaping technology strategy and delivering large-scale technical transformation programmes.
- Strong understanding of cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Experience integrating operational technology with enterprise data, reporting and analytics platforms.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and work effectively across technology and operational teams.
