Lead Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
Join our Google Cloud Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team at JPMorgan Chase, operating within a global follow-the-sun support model as part of the Infrastructure Platform - Cloud Foundational Services organization.
About the Role
As a Lead SRE, you will:
- Directly contribute to achieving operational excellence in Google Cloud environments
- Ensure adherence to Service Level Objectives (SLOs) through adherence to SRE best practices
- Lead financial control and budget management, collaborating with colleagues across the firm
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement SRE frameworks to enhance global Google Cloud environments, ensuring reliability and high operational excellence
- Maintain mastery of application, data, infrastructure, and Agentic AI disciplines
- Employ enterprise-authorized AI tools to accelerate:
- Major-incident triage
- Troubleshooting
- Post-incident analysis
- Validate AI outputs while ensuring adherence to security and data sensitivity requirements
- Support development of technical engineering documentation to improve quality
- Provide technical supervision, oversight, and problem-resolution for engineering activities
- Champion a DevOps model to ensure services are automated and elastic across all platforms

Required Qualifications & Skills
Cloud & Technical Expertise
- Extensive experience with Google Cloud and Azure in mission-critical production environments
- Deep understanding of container technologies:
- Docker
- Kubernetes, GKE
- Helm
- Programming expertise in at least one of:
- Python
- Shell scripting
- Go
- Strong familiarity with REST APIs
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based tools for:
- Deployment
- Monitoring
- Operations, including:
- Google Observability
- Azure Monitor
- Datadog
- Prometheus
- Splunk
- Elasticsearch
- Grafana
AI & Risk Management
- Demonstrated ability to leverage enterprise-authorized AI tools in operational workflows (e.g., incident investigations, knowledge capture), with strong validation practices
- Experience evaluating AI-assisted recommendations for correctness, risk, and alignment with resiliency and security standards
- Ability to set guardrails for AI usage, ensuring outputs adhere to security and operational requirements
Governance & Financial Acumen
- Strong understanding of Google Cloud governance, compliance, and cost management
DevOps & Modern Tools
- Proficiency in:
- Agile methodologies
- CI/CD pipelines
- Git
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Terraform
- Jenkins
- Google Cloud certification or equivalent full-stack public cloud experience

AI/ML & Emerging Tech
- Good understanding of Agentic AI SDKs and GitHub Copilot
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Deep knowledge of operating systems:
- Windows
- Linux (RedHat / Ubuntu)
- Understanding of LLMs and AI/ML frameworks applicable to AIOps
