Lead Structural Designer
PD&MS Group are now looking for an experienced Lead Structural Designer to join our team in Aberdeen, Grangemouth or Glasgow on a full-time, long-term contract or employee basis. We offer a flexible hybrid working model where 2 days per week can be worked remotely.
This role will involve flowline work, we are seeking Designers with experience in brownfield pipe support design incorporating bolted connections for this role. We are seeking candidates that have significant previous experience of leading team of designers and liaising within multi discipline brownfield projects. The role will involve working to budgets, managing hours and meeting project deadlines. Candidates must have previous experience using AutoCAD 2d and 3d and Cloudscan / Recap for this position.

Key Duties
- Aids the project in creating schedules, time assignment and resource allocation
- Responsible for ensuring designs meet project requirements
- Input to project plans
- Identify areas of concern during any project or study
- Produce cost-effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value
- Ability to address operational and maintenance issues in the design and liaise with colleagues for the best solution
- Undertake surveys, both onshore and offshore (not essential)

About You
Our ideal candidate will enjoy team working, will be customer and quality focused, can use their own initiative and will be responsive to our business and client needs. You should also enjoy Leadership and development of people through coaching and mentoring of others.
We’d like you to have a HND in a relevant subject and previous experience in detail design and design checking with an understanding of other disciplines. You need to be highly competent in the use of AutoDesk design products.
