About the Role – Lead System Services Engineer
Baker Hughes is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Lead System Services Engineer. In this role, you will take ownership of critical site activities, lead multidisciplinary teams, and serve as the senior technical authority for advanced BH control systems and auxiliary subsea oil and gas controls technologies. You will ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery to customers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Field Operations
- Support the direct installation, commissioning, and maintenance of BH control systems, providing expert guidance to engineering teams, contractors, and customers.
- Lead system startup, calibration, sequencing, and high-level troubleshooting for:
- BH control systems
- Auxiliary subsea oil and gas control technologies
- Supervise and support complex diagnostics including:
- Tuning
- Inspections
- Component replacements
- System operation verification
2. Ensure Technical Excellence
- Oversee maintenance, modifications, upgrades, testing, and repairs on:
- Software-based control systems
- Instrumentation
- Hydro-mechanical and auxiliary subsea oil and gas controls subsystems
- Create, review, and approve technical documentation, including:
- Engineering Estimates
- Specifications
- Test procedures
- Service reports
- Method statements
- Health assessments
- Ensure all work adheres to Baker Hughes’ technical and quality standards.

3. Drive Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the senior technical authority, providing guidance on escalations and timely resolution of customer concerns.
- Interface with operations, engineering, and customer leadership to align with expectations and contractual requirements.
- Support technical reviews, site meetings, and reliability improvement initiatives.
4. Mentor & Develop Teams
- Coach and guide junior engineers and Field Service Engineers to support technical competency growth and foster best practices.
- Foster strong team performance while ensuring efficient, safe execution of services.
5. Maintain Safety & Compliance
- Lead engineering scopes with strict adherence to HSE standards, risk assessments, and safe-system-of-work processes.
Key Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Systems Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mechatronics
- Control Systems
- Computer Engineering
- Extensive experience supporting:
- Industrial control systems
- Auxiliary subsea oil and gas control technologies
- Advanced troubleshooting expertise for control systems
- Strong understanding of:
- Control systems engineering
- Auxiliary subsea oil and gas controls
- Ability to:
- Read, interpret, create, review, and approve engineering drawings and technical documentation (e.g. specifications, test procedures, reports)
- Willingness to travel, including international or offshore assignments
- Excellent:
- Communication skills
- Leadership abilities
- Customer-facing expertise
- A strong commitment to operational safety and service excellence
