Lead Technical Writer

Company Description

Vattenfall is a European energy company with approximately 21000 employees. For more than 100 years we have electrified industries, supplied energy to people’s homes and modernized our way of living through innovation and cooperation. We now want to make fossil-free living possible within one generation. To be able to reach this ambitious goal we are looking for talented individuals who, in addition to their passion for their own role, also have strong team spirit and want to contribute to supporting a meaningful corporate mission.

Job Description

As a Lead Technical Writer within the Service Documentation Department, you play a key role in shaping and delivering high-quality technical documentation across Vattenfall’s offshore wind portfolio.

In this role, you work closely with the Head of Service Documentation and a wide range of stakeholders to ensure documentation is clear, consistent, and fit for purpose. You support both the operational delivery and the ongoing development of the function, helping to improve processes, tools, and standards.

With your strong technical understanding and structured approach, you connect documentation across maintenance strategies and ensure it is practical, accessible, and valuable for site teams.

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Service Documentation to plan and coordinate documentation activities
  • Guide and support documentation workstreams across projects and operational needs
  • Contribute to resource planning, prioritisation, and continuous improvement of the function
  • Deliver and maintain high-quality, standardised documentation
  • Work with Engineering, Operations, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and quality
  • Support the translation of business needs into clear contractual and supplier requirements
  • Help evaluate supplier deliverables and ensure they meet agreed standards
  • Contribute to developing and improving processes, governance, and ways of working

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
