Lead Maintenance Technician

3 Shift Pattern

8 Hour Shifts

Basic Salary c£46,000 + Shift Supplements

We're looking for an experienced and hands-on Lead Engineering Technician to join our client's team at their fast-paced distribution centre in West Yorkshire.

This is a key role within the Engineering Team and you will be the first line of technical leadership on the floor, keeping the facility running safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

You'll work across a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and automated systems, leading a small team of technicians and support techs while carrying out planned and reactive maintenance.

If you thrive under pressure, take pride in your work, and know your way around a busy warehouse environment, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities for a Lead Technician

  • Leading and supporting a team of Technicians across shift patterns, providing day-to-day technical guidance and mentorship
  • Carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and conveyor systems
  • Diagnosing and resolving breakdowns quickly to minimise disruption to operations
  • Overseeing compliance with health and safety regulations, permit-to-work systems, and site procedures
  • Coordinating with operations management to schedule maintenance activities around production demands
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System)
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to projects to increase equipment reliability and efficiency
  • Escalating complex issues to the Engineering Manager and assisting with contractor management when required

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
