At McLaren
At McLaren, our mission is to set the standard for high performance in sport. And everyone, in every part of the team, has a role to play. So if you want to test your ideas with the world watching... And measure your progress in milliseconds... And play your part in racing history... You belong here. High performance starts with you.
Purpose of the Role
McLaren Racing is transforming the way our Commercial and Marketing functions operate to unlock greater scale, efficiency and performance. As Lead, Technology Transformation, you will define the technology foundations that enable that transformation.
Working closely with Process Engineers and the Lead, AI Transformation, you will design a connected technology ecosystem that supports streamlined processes, intelligent automation and AI-enabled ways of working. You'll ensure our systems, platforms and data architecture are scalable, integrated and capable of powering future growth.
This is a hands-on transformation leadership role focused on turning strategy into practical, technology-enabled outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Lead the technology workstream within the Commercial & Marketing transformation programme, defining a clear technology vision aligned to business objectives and AI strategy.
- Assess the current technology landscape, identifying platform fragmentation, integration gaps, manual workarounds and opportunities for simplification.
- Design future-state technology architecture, including systems, data models, integrations, APIs and automation frameworks.
- Ensure technology solutions support scalable operations, data-driven decision making and AI-enabled ways of working.
- Partner with Process Engineers to translate future business processes into practical, system-enabled solutions.
- Work closely with the Lead, AI Transformation to ensure AI use cases are supported by the right data, platforms and architecture.
- Define how AI capabilities are embedded into core systems and workflows, avoiding siloed or point solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend technology solutions across MarTech, data platforms, workflow automation and integration technologies.
- Develop technology roadmaps and delivery plans, balancing business value, feasibility, scalability and long-term operability.
- Drive platform rationalisation and consolidation, creating a connected and efficient technology ecosystem.
- Work with internal teams, vendors and implementation partners to validate designs and support successful delivery.
- Influence and engage senior stakeholders, translating complex technology concepts into clear business recommendations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
