About the Role
The FIC Shared Services department is responsible for building cutting-edge applications that are used across all FIC business units, driving consolidation and spearheading first-class design and implementation. It is looking for an experienced web front-end engineer to lead the design and execution of the next generation of web-based trade management tools to be used on a global basis by all business units.
Experience of REACT is essential and an understanding of financial markets, workflows, and driving firm-wide initiatives is preferred. You will be planning and developing entire engineering solutions to accomplish business goals across all FIC businesses as well as building reliability and resiliency into solutions with appropriate testing and oversight throughout the delivery lifecycle. You will be ensuring solutions are well architected and can be integrated successfully into the end-to-end business process flow as well as reviewing engineering plans and quality to drive consolidation and re-use, thereby improving engineering capability.

Your key responsibilities
- Designing and leading the development of the next generation of trade management tools for the FIC business
- Leading the UI team by managing the book of work, stakeholder prioritization, and career development
- Driving high-quality applications by being responsible for writing clean, testable code with a high bar
- Leading code reviews and managing SDLC
- Co-working with Quality Assurance (QA) team testing UI functionality and facilitating investigation of production issues
Your skills and experience
- Strong demonstrable experience of developing and delivering highly performant data-intensive/low latency applications with React & TypeScript
- Good understanding of the Browser Application Programming Interface’s (APIs) like Caching & WebSocket and with cross-browser compatibility and optimization techniques/tools
- Experienced Test-driven development (TDD) practitioner with either of the following testing frameworks: Jest/Karma/Mocha/Jasmine
- Familiar with web security, accessibility, and internationalization
- Experience of trading systems and financial markets preferred
- Experience of leading a team and collaborating with stakeholders preferred
