UX/UI Designer
Zaizi is looking for a UX/UI Designer to work in a delivery-focused, agile environment, working closely with government clients. You’ll play a pivotal role in translating user needs into clear, actionable designs while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
About the Role
At Zaizi, a UX/UI Designer ensures smooth workflows through planning, leading, and coordinating user-centred design efforts. You’ll collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, Testers, and Designers to ensure the best design outputs.
The role will see you:
- Depicting the user journey with clarity and insight
- Leading design processes for optimal outcomes
- Providing guidance and high standards to junior designers and mentoring their growth
- Delivering accessible, user-centred experiences
Key Responsibilities
These objectives highlight what we would like this role to achieve. The full scope will be discussed in interviews:
- Design expertise: Demonstrate Figma mastery and knowledge of user interface design
- Stakeholder liaison: Communicate user needs to stakeholders and collaborators
- Prototyping: Facilitate the creation of prototypes for successful development handoffs
- Workshops: Design and facilitate workshops with team members
- Collection of requirements: Extract clear design specifications from ambiguous user feedback
- Expertise resource: Act as the go-to authority for accessible design principles
- Production-level collaboration: Work closely with Developers to ensure seamless delivery of designs
Tasks & Responsibilities
Core Duties:
- Shape and empower the creation of workshops, prototypes and other design artefacts to steer decision making within the team
- Foster user-centred design approaches and methodologies across various projects
- Contribute to strategic planning and executing user experience activities
Specialised Skills & Competencies:
- Expertise in user-centred design and service design practices
- Ability to break down complex designs for effective communication with Developers and Testers
- Versatility in prototyping frameworks and interaction design methods
- Establish clear design objectives and utilise suitable tools/techniques for success
- Organize and execute plan user-centred design and team protocols
- Transform research data into strategic insights with thematic clarity and synthesis
- Support informed and well-rounded communication with stakeholders and teams
- Adaptability and flexibility in managing agile projects

Security Clearance
Zaizi works in collaboration with UK Central Government departments. Security clearance is a necessary prerequisite for participating in our high-security projects.

- You need to have lived continuously in the UK for the past 5 years or more
Interview Process
This is a multi-staged interview process:
1st Stage: Initial Phone Screening
Interviewer: A member of the recruitment team
2nd Stage: Technical Evaluation
Focuses on evaluation of technical expertise and problem-solving
3rd/Final Stage:
Two components — a 10-15 minute presentation, followed by a panel interview in which various departmental stakeholders participate.
