Lead Veterinary Surgeon
Animal Trust – Cwmbran, Torfaen, Wales (launching early 2027)
About the Role
We’re opening Animal Trust, a brand-new 24/7 veterinary hospital in Cwmbran, serving Torfaen and beyond. As an independently owned not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC), we’re redefining affordable, high-quality care for pets with innovative pricing—such as free daytime consultations and £79 out-of-hours checks—to remove financial barriers.
As the Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll:
- Guide and mentor our clinical team to uphold Animal Trust’s standards of excellence.
- Partner with the Practice Manager and Lead Nurse in clinic operations, ensuring clinical and financial success.
- Assess KPIs and P&L to optimise hospital performance.
- Embed our values of compassion and support, fostering a nurturing environment for patients and staff.
About Animal Trust
We’re the UK’s first veterinary Community Interest Company—not driven by profit, but by our mission. Our transparent pricing, affordability, and round-the-clock access create equity in care that traditional practices can’t match.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
