For 30 years we've been creating incredible video games at our multiple studios, but Rebellion is more than just games. We have our own film and motion-capture studio, we create board games, publish books, and through 2000AD, publish comics and graphic novels such as the amazing Judge Dredd.
About the Role
We are on the lookout for a Lead VFX Artist to join our passionate and growing VFX team to work on an upcoming unannounced project at the early stages of development.
The VFX team is responsible for all visual effects developed in Rebellion's games, including particle effects, screen post effects, material effects, mesh destruction effects, and UI effects, all developed in Rebellion’s proprietary engine "Asura".
This position will allow you to play a pivotal role in shaping project-specific processes and delivering industry-leading VFX for new titles, giving you direct influence on construction and pipeline requirements.

- Hybrid work options that respect both collaboration values and personal preferences.
While we encourage face-to-face collaboration and working from our Oxford headquarters, we are open to discussing hybrid options determined by individual needs.
Responsibilities
- Define the creative vision and technical direction for real-time visual effects across a project
- Guide, inspire, and mentor a team of VFX artists, ensuring the highest quality standards and a consistent visual language
- Collaborate with art, design, and engineering leadership to align VFX with gameplay, storytelling, and project goals
- Establish and maintain efficient workflows, pipelines, and best practices to enhance productivity and scalability
- Provide clear feedback and nurture career growth, fostering a collaborative, creative environment
- Own the delivery of VFX content at scale while balancing visual impact with performance budgets and platform requirements

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
